Preparing for GDPR: Article 29 Working Party consultation on GDPR priorities

As a first step towards becoming the European Data Protection Board under the new EU Data Protection General Regulation (GDPR, see our previous updates here), the Article 29 Working Party held its first stakeholder workshop to discuss what it sees as the priorities for the GDPR.

The group discussed:

  • The new data portability right.
  • The use of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
  • The use of certification and codes of conduct and the role of the data protection officer.

Interested parties, particularly industry bodies, who were unable attend this session, can send their views by email to PresidenceG29@cnil.fr. Another workshop is planned for early 2017.
