John Allen
Partner
John Allen is a Partner of White & Black. He specialises in mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions and venture capital. He also advises on constitutional matters, board governance and directors’ duties.
John is a ‘Leading Individual’ in the Legal 500, 2024 and a ‘Band 1 Ranked Individual’ in Chambers & Partners Guide 2024. He heads up the Corporate department at White & Black, which is ranked as a ‘Band 1’ team by Chambers & Partners Guide 2024.
John’s experience includes acting for Nikon on its acquisition of MRMC, Swedish-based ed-tech company Humly on a series of acquisitions in the UK, Vectair Systems and its shareholders on an investment by a US-based consortium of funds, a series of funding rounds for smart battery and EV charging software company Moixa Energy Holdings, Tonic Games (the studio behind “Fall Guys”) on its investment by Synova Capital and the owners of Matchesfashion on the sale of a majority stake to Apax.
Qualifying as a Solicitor in 1998, John has specialised in technology and corporate law ever since. His first degree is in law and he also holds a master’s degree in German law from the Universität Trier.
