Senior Associate

Carly Dodds is an Associate specialising in commercial dispute resolution and litigation. Prior to joining White & Black in September 2024, Carly worked at a well-known firm in Reading for seven years.

Carly qualified in 2017 with a regional firm in the Midlands. Carly has a first-class law degree from Derby University and achieved distinction in the Legal Practice Course at Westminster University. Her previous experience includes working at the UK head office of an international luxury car manufacturer and retailer for four years as a litigation Paralegal. She also spent over a year with a national regulator in London dealing with consumer protection enforcement work.

Carly has acted for claimants and defendants across a wide variety of industry sectors. Carly is deeply engaging with clients and strategic in her approach. She takes the time to get to know clients, to understand the dispute at hand as well as the business needs and objectives. She takes a sensible commercial approach and helps clients seek resolution at an early stage, where possible, through alternative dispute resolution.
She has experience in a wide range of commercial disputes, including contractual disputes, professional negligence disputes, business disputes, pension disputes, construction and IT disputes as well as helping businesses manage consumer disputes and commercial agent disputes.

Carly works within our Litigation and Disputes Team. Our disputes team undertakes commercial litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. As much of our work is for technology-enabled businesses, we have developed particular experience of disputes over intellectual property, both hard and soft, data privacy and disputes arising from M&A, venture capital and private equity deals.
