Corporate Transactions

The largest area of our practise is corporate transactional work, which consists of M&A, finance and banking. The majority of our M&A work  is in the mid-market, with deal values ranging from £1m to £250m.

Many of these deals involve high growth or technology companies, but we see our knowledge and skills as having broad applicability and we also regularly advise clients in other industries. We guide our clients through every aspect of a deal, from initial negotiations and the creation of heads of terms through to post-completion integration.

John Allen is the head of our M&A practice. Mark Hodac is the head of our finance and banking practice. For alternative contacts, call +44 (0) 800 035 2656 and ask to speak to one of our corporate transactional specialists.

Many of the transactions on which we advise involve a cross-border element. Our clients include private and public companies, investors, entrepreneurs, management teams, LLPs, Royal Charter corporations and charities. We focus on the interaction between the commercial, financial and legal terms to ensure our resources are targeted to those areas which are likely to have the greatest impact on the achievement of our clients' objectives.

Whether you’re buying a company, investing in a business or achieving your exit strategy, we know what’s needed to get the deal done and to make sure the process runs smoothly. Wherever possible we adopt a collaborative and constructive approach, but we will always be working to ensure that the deal stays focussed on your commercial objectives, and that you stay in control of the process. Our lawyers understand the need to move quickly on a deal.  We are used to working to demanding timescales and will go the extra mile to ensure a transaction is completed on time.

We have experience of working on all types of deals, large and small, from cross-border mergers to early stage technology financings. Recent examples of our work range from a cross-border M&A transaction (with Linklaters’ Hong Kong office representing the counterparty) to fund-raising for a cloud-based business intelligence company.
